Flusher not always suitable

I purchased the fresh water flush with square cap for my 100hp Yamaha outboard. The cap covers the cooling water inlets well, but unfortunately it does not work! It comes probably too little water at the pump and thus the cooling water jet at the engine remains off.
The flushers are probably more something for smaller engines.
